OTR Wheel Engineering is proud to be a corporate sponsor of the 2018 Mid East Racing Series.
The Mid East Hare Scramble Racing Series is a 16-round off-road series that visits some of the more well-known southern racing venues, as well as many other outstanding locations. The first 2 rounds have come and gone, so now were approaching round 3! Round 3 is going to be at East Enola Beach in Morganton, NC, March 24-25th. Straight from the Mid East Racing website, here’s some info on the track;
“New to Mideast for 2017, this track was one of the favorites of the Mideast riders. The property stretches to South Mountain State Park so mileage will not be a problem. There is a big creek and a field similar to Steele Creek Campground. Terrain will be rocky, lots of hills, sandy with a hill climb in the parking area for spectators. There is a “beach” area where you will be able to enjoy swimming and fishing. Spectators and riders will not be disappointed with this location. There will be separate tracks for bikes and quads, approximately 8 miles in length.”

The first round of the Mid-East Racing Series took place in Woodruff, South Carolina on the weekend of February 17-18th. Collin Truett, racing with Truett Racing sponsored by OTR Wheel Engineering, finished in 1st place in the UTV series Pro Class in round 1 AND also in the 2nd round this past weekend of March 3-4th in Union, South Carolina! DOUBLE VICTORY! Mitch Truett also showed off and landed 3rd place in the UTV Pro Class series in the second round! We are so proud to be sponsoring Truett Racing!
Also showing off and proving their talent on our team is Jamie McCoy. He finished 3rd in the UTV Pro Class in the first round of the series and 5th place in the 2nd round. McCoy races with the GForce Racing team that we sponsor. In regard to McCoy’s second round standings, Gary Hinkle with Gforce Racing wrote, “#70 Can Am of Jamie McCoy got off the line last and put his @gforceracing /Bigfoot Enterprises/@otr wheel to the front the first lap, but had a mechanical issue with the front drive shaft U-joint breaking. Made it thru timing and scoring and 7 minutes later to remove the driveshaft and he was back pushing for all he had in 2 wheel drive. Never quit and never gave up to finish 4th or 5th in class.” Way to go Jamie!
