Summertime brings hotter temperatures and high humidity, along with increased sun exposure and drier conditions. When you are running your equipment heavily in the summer time, these conditions can result in a new set of maintenance and challenges. The increased heat and higher humidity forces components to work harder, resulting in failure and costly repairs.
Here are some action items that you, as an equipment operator/owner, can incorporate in to your routine to increase the longevity of your machine:
Perform daily inspections of fluids and coolants, check for and clear and debris that may get caught in your components, avoid overworking the machinery, allow for proper cooling, and store your equipment in a dry, sheltered place to keep it out of the elements.
Stay safe in this heat and keep your equipment running smoothly!
