Truett Racing is a racing family competing with a 2016 Polaris RZR XP 1000 running the number 117 and a 2017 Polaris Ace 900 XC running the same number in the Ace class at GNCC. Collin, Mitch, and Alex Truett make up the family PRO Class UTV racing team. They are sponsored by Polaris, Corbeau Seats, SuperATV, Turtle Labs, Truett Insulation, and OTR Wheel Engineering.
This is the seventh in a series of ‘Race Reports’ that will give our readers some insight into the highly competitive sport that is UTV racing! The seventh Race Report we have is written by our very own Todd Sledge and covers the GNCC Powerline Park Race, which took place in St. Clairsville, Ohio on October 7th and 8th, 2017:
Arrival on Friday I walked areas of the track I was thinking to myself what in the world all I saw was mud and mud pits I honestly thought the track I was walking was for Monster Trucks
Saturday morning arrived and time to get the 10 SECOND SCREAM GOING
1ST up for OTR Wheel team was Collin Truett
In the Polaris ACE class the green flag drops & the gang of single seat drivers are off into the woods and mud Collin didn’t get the starting line he had planned and fell back to somewhere around 6th into the middle of lap 1 but he maintained his lines and battled into a 2nd place finish which once again was pure amazing as it was the last round at the Mountaineer Run Collin currently is tied at 1st place with Robert Boynton so now to the last round in Crawfordsville Indiana
Then to the 4pm show of UTVs
Looking across the field of 65 racers/teams it is stacked with the heavy hitters in XC-1 (WOW)
